On August 27, 2025, Unichem Pharmaceuticals voluntarily issued a recall for one lot of cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride 10 mg tablets due to a labeling error in which bottles labeled as cyclobenzaprine 10 mg actually contain 7.5 mg tablets of meloxicam.

The mislabeled lot number of cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride Tablets USP, 10 mg, is GMML24026A with an expiration date of September 2027. The product was distributed nationwide to distributors.

Cyclobenzaprine is a muscle relaxant indicated as an adjunct to rest and physical therapy for relief of muscle spasm associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions. Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.

Patients who unknowingly take meloxicam are at risk of serious adverse events including cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, renal, anaphylaxis, and skin reactions, particularly in those patients with NSAID allergies, those on anticoagulants, or with underlying comorbidities.

To date, Unichem Pharmaceuticals has not received any reports of adverse events related to this recall. Full recall details are available here.
