With the annual National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference (NWCDC) going virtual this year, the event has expanded into several platforms to engage and educate attendees. The CompTalks series was created to showcase thought leaders from across the industry and the topics they’re passionate about, and myMatrixx Chief Clinical Officer Phil Walls session is airing today, Monday, October 26th. The talk, “COVID-19: The Race for a Cure,” covers the potential benefits and costs of rapid vaccine and treatment development for the disease.

During the short-video feature, Walls delves into the background of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the declaration of a public health emergency and the initial activity around clinical trials. He also covers the politicization of the pandemic, standards of proof and how to properly assess risk before releasing treatments to market. The session will be available on the NWCDC website where you can check out other events surrounding the 2020 virtual conference.
